KARACHI: Ghandhara Tyre and Rubber Company Limited (PSX: GTYR) has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining certification from the United States Department of Transportation (DOT), enabling the company to export its locally manufactured tyres to the U.S. market. The development was disclosed to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on July 15, 2026.
According to the company’s notification, the DOT certification confirms that Ghandhara Tyre’s products comply with the applicable U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, a key regulatory requirement for entering one of the world’s largest automotive markets.
The company stated that this achievement aligns with its broader strategy of expanding its export portfolio, exploring new international markets, and strengthening its position in the global tyre industry. The certification is expected to create new business opportunities and enhance the company’s international competitiveness.
Ghandhara Tyre also reaffirmed its commitment to capitalizing on emerging growth opportunities while continuing to deliver sustainable value to its shareholders. The move reflects the company’s focus on increasing foreign market penetration and diversifying its revenue base through exports.
The successful acquisition of the DOT certification represents an important step in Ghandhara Tyre’s long-term growth strategy and could contribute positively to Pakistan’s tyre exports by opening access to the highly regulated U.S. automotive market.
