Mughal Energy Limited has announced its financial results for the nine months ended March 31, 2026, while also providing a significant update on its hybrid power plant project. The company’s Board of Directors approved the unaudited condensed interim financial statements in a meeting held on April 28, 2026. No cash dividend, bonus shares, or right shares were declared for the period.

A key highlight of the announcement is the progress made on the company’s hybrid power plant. Mughal Energy confirmed that turbine rolling has commenced, marking the beginning of gradual power generation along with load, reliability, system stability, and safety compliance testing. This milestone brings the project closer to commercial operations and represents an important step in the company’s long-term growth strategy. Management stated that further updates on the project’s progress will be shared as development continues.

On the financial front, Mughal Energy reported a net loss of Rs81,815 for the nine-month period ended March 31, 2026, a substantial improvement compared to the Rs12.41 million loss recorded during the corresponding period last year. Despite the improvement in bottom-line performance, the company has yet to commence commercial operations, meaning it generated no operating revenue during the reporting period. Other income helped offset administrative expenses and finance costs, contributing to the near break-even result.

The company’s financial position strengthened considerably as total assets increased to approximately Rs10.29 billion, compared with Rs7.24 billion at the end of June 2025. This growth was primarily driven by continued investment in property, plant, and equipment, reflecting ongoing development of the hybrid power project. Cash and bank balances also rose significantly, providing improved liquidity as the company moves toward operational readiness.

Mughal Energy’s latest update signals that the company is entering a crucial phase of its development. While commercial operations have not yet begun, the successful initiation of turbine rolling and testing indicates that the hybrid power plant is progressing toward commissioning. Investors will likely monitor future announcements closely as the company transitions from project development to power generation and revenue production.
