Sindh Abadgar’s Sugar Mills Limited (SASM) has announced its unaudited financial results for the half-year and quarter ended March 31, 2026, following the approval of its Board of Directors at a meeting held on May 23, 2026.

The company reported a net profit after taxation of Rs. 824,177 for the six-month period ended March 31, 2026, compared to Rs. 82.16 million during the corresponding period last year. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs. 0.08, reflecting a challenging operating environment for the sugar sector.

During the first half of FY2026, SASM generated net sales revenue of Rs. 1.289 billion, compared with Rs. 1.799 billion in the same period of the previous year. Gross profit was recorded at Rs. 133.61 million, down from Rs. 286.59 million last year, primarily due to lower sales volumes and market pressures.

Despite the decline in revenue, the company benefited from higher other income, which reached Rs. 139.17 million, helping support overall profitability. Finance costs also decreased to Rs. 99.77 million, compared with Rs. 121.45 million in the corresponding period of FY2025.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2026, SASM posted a profit after taxation of Rs. 46.29 million, highlighting improved quarterly performance despite industry headwinds.

On the balance sheet side, total assets increased significantly to Rs. 10.95 billion as of March 31, 2026, compared with Rs. 6.66 billion at the end of September 2025. The increase was largely driven by higher inventory levels, which rose to Rs. 5.67 billion.

The Board of Directors did not recommend any cash dividend, bonus shares, right shares, or other corporate actions for the period under review.

Management stated that the company remains focused on operational efficiency, prudent financial management, and creating long-term value for shareholders while navigating the evolving dynamics of Pakistan’s sugar industry.

The detailed quarterly report and financial statements will be submitted through the Pakistan Unified Corporate Reporting System (PUCARS) within the prescribed timeframe.
