July 31, 2026 – Tandlianwala Sugar Mills Limited (TSML) has reported a strong improvement in its financial performance for the nine months ended June 30, 2026, driven by higher revenues and improved operational efficiency despite ongoing challenges in the sugar sector.
According to the company’s latest unaudited quarterly financial report, profit before tax surged to Rs1.022 billion, compared with Rs638.9 million recorded during the corresponding period last year, representing an increase of approximately 60%. Profit after tax also climbed significantly to Rs462.7 million, up from Rs287.8 million in the same period of the previous year. Earnings per share (EPS) improved to Rs3.93, compared with Rs2.44 a year earlier.
The company’s net sales for the nine-month period increased sharply to Rs46.05 billion, compared with Rs30.30 billion in the corresponding period of FY2025, reflecting robust revenue growth. Gross profit remained healthy at Rs3.94 billion, while profit from operations stood at Rs3.22 billion despite higher distribution and finance costs.
For the third quarter alone, Tandlianwala Sugar Mills reported Rs124.7 million in after-tax profit, compared with Rs22.7 million during the same quarter last year. Quarterly EPS improved to Rs1.06, highlighting stronger profitability during the period.
In its Directors’ Review, the company stated that it remained focused on maintaining financial discipline and operational excellence throughout the reporting period. Management noted that it would continue navigating changing market conditions to strengthen profitability and sustain growth momentum during the remainder of the fiscal year.
On the balance sheet, total assets expanded to Rs52.18 billion as of June 30, 2026, compared with Rs40.36 billion at the end of September 2025. Shareholders’ equity also strengthened to Rs14.94 billion, supported by growth in retained earnings.
