Karachi, August 20, 2026: Burj Clean Energy Modaraba has entered into a Lease (Ijarah) Agreement with Pakistan Cables Limited for the development of a 7.5-megawatt (MW) wind power project at the company’s manufacturing facility in Nooriabad, Sindh.

The agreement has been structured under a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model, under which Burj Clean Energy Modaraba will be responsible for developing, owning and operating the renewable energy project. The wind-generated electricity will be supplied to Pakistan Cables Limited.

The project will also be supported by financing from Habib Bank Limited (HBL), which has extended a project financing facility to the Modaraba, according to the material information submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The initiative marks a significant step in Burj Clean Energy Modaraba’s efforts to promote renewable energy solutions in Pakistan. By providing wind-generated power to an industrial facility, the project is expected to help reduce dependence on fossil-fuel-based electricity while supporting greater energy efficiency.

For Pakistan Cables, the project represents an opportunity to incorporate renewable energy into its manufacturing operations in Nooriabad. For Burj Clean Energy Modaraba, the agreement expands its role in developing and facilitating clean-energy projects and supports its stated objective of creating sustainable value for certificate holders and other stakeholders.

The announcement was made by Burj Investment Management Limited, the manager of Burj Clean Energy Modaraba, in a material information notice dated August 19, 2026. The disclosure was made pursuant to the applicable requirements of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Rule Book and the Securities Act, 2015.

The 7.5MW wind power project adds to Pakistan’s broader push toward cleaner and more sustainable energy generation, while potentially helping participating businesses improve their long-term energy efficiency and reduce reliance on conventional power sources.
