Buxly Paints Reports Rs34.71 Million Loss for FY2026
KARACHI: Buxly Paints Limited has reported a loss of Rs34.71 million for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, compared with a loss of Rs4.06 million recorded in the previous year.
According to the company’s financial results approved by its Board of Directors on September 24, 2026, sales declined to Rs519.11 million during FY2026 from Rs587.14 million in FY2025. The lower sales were accompanied by a reduction in gross profit, which stood at Rs90.68 million, compared with Rs111.88 million a year earlier.
The company’s distribution and selling expenses increased to Rs64.73 million from Rs60.96 million, while administrative expenses rose significantly to Rs64.31 million from Rs46.07 million. As a result, the company recorded an operating loss of Rs38.37 million, compared with an operating profit of Rs4.85 million in FY2025.
Buxly Paints reported other income of Rs11.23 million, compared with Rs6.54 million in the previous year. Finance costs, meanwhile, fell substantially to Rs1.08 million from Rs7.85 million. Despite the improvement in finance costs and other income, the company posted a loss before tax of Rs34.71 million, against Rs2.77 million in the preceding year.
The loss translated into a loss per share of Rs24.10, compared with a loss per share of Rs2.82 in FY2025.
Financial Position
The company’s total assets increased to Rs648.78 million as of June 30, 2026, from Rs626.37 million a year earlier. Current assets stood at Rs444.45 million, with trade debts rising to Rs284.12 million from Rs273.67 million.
Cash and bank balances, however, declined to Rs29.20 million from Rs47.18 million. Short-term borrowings decreased to Rs50 million from Rs83.90 million, while trade and other payables increased to Rs449.84 million from Rs356.79 million.
The company’s accumulated loss also increased considerably, reaching Rs40.71 million at June 30, 2026, compared with Rs6 million at the end of FY2025. Total equity stood at Rs148.62 million, down from Rs183.33 million.
Cash Flow Improves
Despite the reported annual loss, Buxly Paints generated Rs22.36 million in net cash from operating activities during FY2026, a notable improvement over Rs2.68 million in FY2025.
The company invested Rs2.86 million in property and equipment and Rs1.71 million in investment properties during the year. Net cash used in investing activities amounted to Rs5.87 million.
Overall, cash and cash equivalents decreased by Rs15.92 million during the year, leaving the company with cash and cash equivalents of negative Rs20.80 million after considering short-term borrowings.
No Dividend or Bonus Shares
The company’s Board approved no cash dividend, bonus shares, right shares or other entitlement for shareholders for FY2026. The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for October 28, 2026, at the company’s registered office in Karachi and through virtual participation.
The share transfer books will remain closed from October 22 to October 28, 2026, both days inclusive.
Overall, Buxly Paints’ FY2026 results show pressure on sales and profitability, although the company recorded a marked improvement in operating cash generation and a reduction in finance costs.
