The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL) has reported a significant decline in profitability for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, despite generating positive operating cash flows and maintaining growth in its total assets. The company’s latest financial results highlight the challenges facing its business, including lower sales, reduced gross profit and increased provisions for expected credit losses.

According to the financial statements submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), TOMCL recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs112.35 million for FY2026, compared with Rs429.79 million in the previous financial year. This represents a decline of approximately 73.9%, reflecting considerable pressure on the company’s bottom line.

Revenue and Gross Profit Under Pressure

The company’s consolidated net sales declined to Rs12.38 billion in FY2026 from Rs14.01 billion in FY2025, representing a decrease of approximately 11.6%. The decline in revenue was accompanied by a reduction in gross profit, which fell to Rs1.09 billion from Rs1.43 billion a year earlier.

The lower gross profit indicates that the company faced pressure on its overall earnings from core business operations. As a result, its gross profit margin narrowed to approximately 8.8%, compared with 10.2% in the previous financial year.

Operating profit also experienced a substantial decline, falling to Rs248.91 million from Rs657.55 million in FY2025. Higher provisions for expected credit losses and continued administrative and selling expenses contributed to the pressure on operating performance.

Earnings Per Share Declines

The company’s consolidated earnings per share (EPS) dropped to Rs0.57 for FY2026, compared with restated EPS of Rs2.50 in FY2025. The decline reflects the sharp reduction in annual profitability.

On an unconsolidated basis, TOMCL reported a net profit of Rs139.49 million, down from Rs406.09 million in the previous year. Unconsolidated EPS stood at Rs0.71, compared with restated EPS of Rs2.37.

These figures demonstrate that the decline in earnings affected both the standalone company and its consolidated operations.

Cash Flow and Financial Position

Despite the decline in earnings, TOMCL generated positive cash flows from operating activities. Consolidated net cash generated from operations increased to Rs311.68 million in FY2026 from Rs168.83 million in FY2025.

However, the company continued to make substantial investments in property, plant and equipment. Capital expenditure reached approximately Rs654.27 million on a consolidated basis, contributing to negative cash flows from investing activities.

Consolidated cash and cash equivalents stood at negative Rs377.38 million at the end of FY2026, compared with negative Rs56.85 million a year earlier. This position highlights the importance of managing liquidity, working capital and investment spending.

Meanwhile, total consolidated assets increased to Rs7.17 billion from Rs7.01 billion in FY2025, indicating modest growth in the company’s asset base.

No Final Dividend or Bonus Shares Announced

The company’s board of directors, in its meeting held on October 3, 2026, recommended no final cash dividend, bonus shares or right shares for the year ended June 30, 2026. No other corporate entitlement was announced in the notice.

TOMCL also announced that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on October 27, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at its corporate office in Karachi. The share transfer books will remain closed from October 21 to October 27, 2026, inclusive.

Additionally, the company scheduled a corporate briefing session for November 11, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., to discuss its financial performance and outlook with investors and analysts.

Outlook

The Organic Meat Company enters the new financial year facing the task of restoring revenue growth and improving profitability. The reduction in sales, gross profit, operating profit and EPS highlights the need for stronger operating performance and careful management of expenses and receivables.

Positive operating cash flows and a larger asset base provide some support, but the increase in the cash deficit and the absence of a final dividend are important considerations for shareholders.

Investors will likely monitor future revenue trends, profit margins, cash flow generation and credit-loss provisions to assess whether the company can recover its earnings momentum in the coming financial year.
