Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Reports Strong Revenue Growth in Nine-Month Results for 2026
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has reported a significant improvement in its financial performance for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, with consolidated revenue increasing substantially compared with the corresponding period last year. The company’s latest financial results highlight stronger revenue generation and a return to profitability, although higher operating and financing costs continue to affect its earnings.
According to the financial statements submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on October 22, 2026, PTCL recorded consolidated revenue of approximately Rs304.40 billion during the nine-month period, compared with Rs188.32 billion in the same period of 2025. This represents an increase of around 62%.
PTCL Returns to Profitability
PTCL reported a consolidated profit of Rs4.73 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, compared with a loss of Rs11.18 billion in the corresponding period last year. Earnings per share also improved, reaching Rs0.93 against a loss per share of Rs2.19 in the previous year’s period.
The improvement reflects the company’s stronger revenue performance and higher operating profit. Consolidated operating profit increased to Rs44.78 billion from Rs15.94 billion in the same period of 2025, demonstrating substantial growth in operating earnings.
However, financing costs and other expenses remained significant, reaching approximately Rs47.35 billion during the nine-month period. These expenses continued to weigh on the company’s profit before tax.
Third-Quarter Performance
For the three months ended September 30, 2026, PTCL’s consolidated revenue reached Rs102.73 billion, compared with Rs63.72 billion in the same quarter of 2025.
Despite the higher revenue, the company recorded a quarterly profit of Rs62.34 million, compared with a loss of Rs1.28 billion in the corresponding quarter last year. Earnings per share improved to Rs0.01 from a loss per share of Rs0.25.
The results indicate a substantial improvement in quarterly profitability, although the relatively small reported profit shows that elevated expenses continued to limit the conversion of revenue growth into bottom-line earnings.
Stronger Operating Cash Flow
PTCL’s consolidated cash flow statement also showed a notable improvement in operating cash generation. Net cash generated from operating activities reached approximately Rs100.24 billion during the first nine months of 2026, compared with Rs62.30 billion in the same period last year.
At the same time, the company continued investing in its business. Cash used in investing activities amounted to approximately Rs39.90 billion, reflecting expenditure on property, equipment, intangible assets and other investments.
Cash used in financing activities stood at approximately Rs74.91 billion, reflecting debt repayments, financing costs, lease obligations and other financing-related payments. As a result, cash and cash equivalents decreased by approximately Rs14.57 billion during the period.
No Dividend Announced
Alongside its financial results, PTCL informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that its Board of Directors had recommended no cash dividend, bonus shares, right shares or other corporate entitlement for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.
The company also stated that its quarterly report would be transmitted through the Pakistan Unified Corporate Actions Reporting System (PUCARS) within 30 days of the close of the third quarter.
Outlook
PTCL’s latest results demonstrate a substantial recovery in consolidated earnings, supported by higher revenue, improved operating profit and stronger operating cash flow. The return to profitability is an encouraging development compared with the losses recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
Nevertheless, investors will continue to monitor financing costs, operating expenses, cash balances and the sustainability of revenue growth. The company’s ability to translate its expanding revenue base into stronger and more consistent net earnings will remain an important factor in assessing its financial performance in the coming quarters.
