Sunrays Textile Mills Limited has announced a significant improvement in its financial performance for the first quarter ended September 30, 2026, reporting a substantial increase in profitability compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

According to the financial results approved by the company’s Board of Directors at a meeting held on October 30, 2026, the company’s net profit increased to Rs. 375.53 million, compared with Rs. 11.08 million recorded in the same quarter last year. This strong improvement reflects a considerable recovery in the company’s operating performance.

Revenue and Gross Profit Show Significant Improvement

Sunrays Textile Mills reported net sales of Rs. 5.85 billion during the quarter under review, compared with approximately Rs. 4.86 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year, representing growth of around 20.3%.

The company’s gross profit also increased substantially to Rs. 968.05 million, compared with Rs. 180.24 million in the same period last year. The improvement indicates stronger gross profitability despite the company’s higher cost of sales.

Cost of sales stood at approximately Rs. 4.88 billion, compared with Rs. 4.68 billion in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Net Profit and Earnings Per Share Improve Sharply

The company recorded profit before taxation of Rs. 637.69 million during the first quarter, compared with Rs. 41.66 million in the same period last year.

After accounting for taxes, consolidated net profit reached Rs. 375.53 million, against Rs. 11.08 million previously.

As a result, earnings per share (EPS) increased significantly to Rs. 18.14, compared with Rs. 0.54 in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

This substantial improvement in EPS represents a positive development for shareholders and reflects the company’s stronger earnings performance during the reporting period.

Financial Position and Cash Flow

The company’s consolidated total assets stood at Rs. 21.38 billion as of September 30, 2026, compared with Rs. 21.59 billion at June 30, 2026.

Cash and bank balances were approximately Rs. 12.16 million at the end of the quarter. Meanwhile, the company generated net cash from operating activities of Rs. 286.93 million, compared with negative operating cash flow of Rs. 291.77 million in the corresponding period last year.

These figures indicate an improvement in cash generation from operating activities, although the company’s cash balance and financing requirements remain important areas to monitor.

No Cash Dividend Announced

Alongside its financial results, the Board of Directors recommended a NIL cash dividend for the first quarter ended September 30, 2026. The company also stated that its quarterly report would be transmitted through the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s PUCARS system within the prescribed timeframe.

Outlook

Sunrays Textile Mills Limited’s first-quarter results reflect a considerable improvement in revenue, gross profit, net earnings and earnings per share. The increase in profitability compared with the corresponding period last year is an encouraging development for the company.

Going forward, investors will likely monitor the sustainability of improved gross margins, operating cash flows, production costs and overall demand in the textile sector.

Overall, the company’s first-quarter performance represents a strong improvement over the previous year’s corresponding quarter. However, investors should also consider the company’s financial position, cash flows and future quarterly results when evaluating its investment prospects.
