Ghani Value Glass Limited has reported improved financial performance for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, posting higher revenue, gross profit and net earnings compared with the corresponding period last year.
According to the company’s latest financial statements for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, net revenue increased to Rs1.62 billion, compared with Rs1.41 billion in the same quarter of the previous financial year, reflecting growth of approximately 14.3%.
The company’s gross profit also recorded a notable improvement, rising to Rs567.1 million from Rs464.5 million in the corresponding period last year. This represents an increase of approximately 22.1%, indicating improved gross profitability during the quarter.
Ghani Value Glass reported a net profit of Rs207.6 million for the quarter, compared with Rs188.4 million in the same period of the previous year, registering an increase of around 10.2%. Earnings per share (EPS) also improved to Rs1.38 from Rs1.26.
Meanwhile, profit before taxation increased to Rs323.5 million from Rs305.4 million in the corresponding quarter last year. Operating profit reached Rs291.3 million, compared with Rs260.3 million previously.
Revenue Growth Reflects Improved Business Performance
The company’s latest results reflect continued growth in its business operations despite challenges in the broader economic environment. Higher revenue and gross profit contributed to improved overall profitability.
However, distribution expenses increased to Rs47 million from Rs32.4 million, while administrative expenses rose to Rs203.2 million compared with Rs147.1 million in the corresponding period last year. These higher operating costs remained an important factor affecting the company’s overall earnings performance.
Other income also declined to Rs32.2 million from Rs45.1 million during the comparative period.
Economic Challenges Remain a Concern
In its directors’ report, the company highlighted Pakistan’s gradually improving economic conditions while acknowledging several challenges facing the industrial sector.
The report noted that inflationary pressures resurfaced, with consumer price inflation reaching approximately 10.3% in September 2026. It also highlighted rising energy prices, production costs and external financing requirements as factors that could affect industrial profitability.
According to management, ongoing geopolitical tensions, particularly the US-Iran conflict and broader instability in the Middle East, could create additional uncertainty for the manufacturing industry.
As glass manufacturing is an energy-intensive business, increases in international oil and gas prices may raise production, transportation and logistics costs. Potential disruptions to international shipping routes could also increase freight and insurance expenses and delay the procurement of imported raw materials.
Financial Position and Cash Flow
As of September 30, 2026, Ghani Value Glass reported total assets of approximately Rs7.38 billion, compared with Rs6.99 billion at June 30, 2026.
The company’s stock-in-trade increased to Rs1.77 billion from Rs1.53 billion, while trade receivables stood at approximately Rs1.04 billion.
However, cash and bank balances declined to Rs135.6 million from Rs265 million at the end of the previous financial year.
The company reported negative net cash generated from operating activities of Rs47.8 million during the quarter, compared with negative Rs56.4 million in the corresponding period last year. This indicates that working capital and cash flow management remain important areas to monitor despite the improvement in reported profitability.
Outlook
Looking ahead, Ghani Value Glass will continue operating in an environment influenced by energy prices, inflation, geopolitical developments and supply-chain conditions.
The company’s first-quarter results demonstrate growth in revenue and profitability, providing a positive start to FY2026-27. Nevertheless, rising operating expenses and pressure on cash flows remain important considerations for its future financial performance.
Overall, Ghani Value Glass has delivered an encouraging quarterly performance, with higher sales, gross profit, net earnings and earnings per share. Its ability to manage production costs, maintain operating efficiency and navigate economic uncertainty will remain important in sustaining this growth throughout the financial year.
