Amtex Limited has reported a financial loss of Rs31.04 million for the first quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with a net profit of Rs10.35 million in the corresponding period last year, reflecting continued pressure on the company’s financial performance.

According to the financial results submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on October 30, 2026, the textile company’s sales declined to Rs587.70 million during the quarter, down from Rs925.48 million recorded in the same period of the previous year.

The decline in revenue also affected the company’s gross profitability. Amtex Limited posted a gross profit of Rs64.28 million, compared with Rs120.22 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.

The company’s other operating income increased slightly to Rs4.23 million from Rs3.85 million. However, this improvement was insufficient to offset the decline in sales and gross profit.

On the expense side, selling and distribution expenses stood at Rs32.93 million, while administrative expenses amounted to Rs33.35 million. Finance costs reached Rs25.93 million during the quarter.

Consequently, the company recorded a loss before taxation of Rs31.04 million, compared with a pre-tax profit of Rs10.35 million in the same quarter last year. Its earnings per share (EPS) also turned negative at Rs0.12 per share, against positive earnings of Rs0.04 per share previously.

Financial Position and Cash Flow

The company’s statement of financial position showed total assets of approximately Rs3.95 billion as of September 30, 2026, compared with Rs4.01 billion at June 30, 2026.

Long-term financing decreased to Rs4.19 billion from Rs4.34 billion at the end of the previous financial year. Meanwhile, current liabilities increased to Rs6.14 billion from Rs6.04 billion.

The company also reported accumulated losses of approximately Rs12.13 billion, highlighting the financial challenges reflected in its balance sheet.

Cash flow performance also remained under pressure. Net cash used in operating activities amounted to Rs12.10 million during the quarter, compared with net cash generated of Rs6.43 million in the corresponding period last year. Cash and cash equivalents declined to Rs95.16 million from Rs119.67 million at the beginning of the period.

No Dividend Announced

The Board of Directors, in its meeting held on October 30, 2026, did not recommend any cash dividend, bonus shares or right shares for the first quarter ended September 30, 2026. The company also reported no other corporate action or price-sensitive information requiring disclosure.

Outlook

Amtex Limited’s latest financial results indicate a challenging start to the financial year 2026-27, with lower sales, reduced gross profit and a shift from profitability to a quarterly loss.

The company’s future financial performance will depend on its ability to improve sales, manage operating expenses, control financing costs and strengthen cash flow. Investors will likely monitor upcoming quarterly results for signs of recovery in the company’s operating performance.

The reported figures underline the financial pressures facing the textile manufacturer as it begins the new financial year.
