LIVEN Pharma Limited has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China-based TOFFLON Science and Technology Group Co. Ltd., a globally recognized pharmaceutical technology and advanced manufacturing company. The development marks a significant strategic milestone for the Pakistani pharmaceutical sector and aligns with LIVEN Pharma’s long-term Vision 2030 objectives.
According to the company’s disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the agreement was formally executed in Shanghai by Mr. Michael Chang, Senior Vice President of TOFFLON, and Mr. Kaashif Hussain, CEO of LIVEN Pharma. The signing ceremony took place during the China Pharmaceutical Industry International (CPhI) event, highlighting the growing collaboration between Pakistani and Chinese pharmaceutical enterprises.
TOFFLON is regarded as one of the world’s leading providers of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, aseptic processing, and advanced manufacturing solutions. Through the partnership, LIVEN Pharma aims to leverage world-class manufacturing technologies, strengthen local production capabilities, and support the development of Pakistan’s pharmaceutical and biological manufacturing infrastructure.
The company stated that the MoU forms an integral part of its Vision 2030 strategy, which seeks to transform LIVEN Pharma into a fully integrated pharmaceutical and biotechnology enterprise. The initiative is expected to facilitate technology transfer, localization of sophisticated manufacturing processes, and enhancement of production standards within Pakistan.
LIVEN Pharma believes the agreement represents a landmark achievement for the country’s pharmaceutical industry. The company noted that it has become the first Pakistani pharmaceutical firm to secure the willingness of a globally renowned Chinese pharmaceutical technology group to explore investment and strategic industrial collaboration through a comprehensive framework arrangement.
Management emphasized that the collaboration is expected to contribute to attracting foreign direct investment, improving export competitiveness, and reducing Pakistan’s reliance on imported high-value biological products. While the MoU establishes a framework for future cooperation, the company clarified that any definitive investments, projects, or commercial agreements will remain subject to technical evaluations, regulatory approvals, corporate approvals, and the execution of final agreements.
