KARACHI: Gharibwal Cement Limited reported a strong financial performance for the nine months ended March 31, 2026, driven by higher sales volumes, improved operational efficiency, and effective cost management. The company’s net profit increased by 39.3% year-on-year, reflecting resilience despite pricing pressures in the domestic cement market.

During the nine-month period, Gharibwal Cement posted net sales of Rs. 16.51 billion, up 11.8% from Rs. 14.77 billion in the corresponding period last year. The growth was supported by an 18.2% increase in cement dispatches to 1.08 million tons and a 13.0% rise in clinker production, although average selling prices declined by 5.4%.

The company successfully improved profitability by lowering production costs through enhanced capacity utilization and the integration of solar power into its operations. As a result, EBITDA climbed 15.7% to Rs. 3.47 billion, while profit after tax surged to Rs. 1.75 billion, compared with Rs. 1.26 billion in the same period of the previous year. Earnings per share (EPS) also rose to Rs. 4.38, up from Rs. 3.14 a year earlier.

Gross profit increased to Rs. 3.32 billion, compared with Rs. 2.73 billion in the corresponding period, reflecting improved production efficiency despite higher operating expenses. Finance costs also declined significantly, contributing further to the company’s stronger bottom line.

Gharibwal Cement maintained a solid financial position, with total assets reaching Rs. 40.93 billion as of March 31, 2026, compared to Rs. 38.68 billion at the end of June 2025. The company’s retained earnings increased to Rs. 15.84 billion, while its debt-to-equity ratio remained low at 0.03, highlighting its conservative leverage and strong balance sheet.

The Board of Directors approved an interim cash dividend of Rs. 0.50 per share, bringing the total interim dividend for the financial year ending June 30, 2026, to Rs. 1.00 per share.

Looking ahead, management stated that work on the company’s Line-II expansion project is progressing according to plan. The company remains focused on operational excellence, cost optimization, and sustainable growth while navigating market volatility and rising input costs.
