Gharibwal Cement Limited has temporarily suspended clinker production after its kiln ID fan was damaged during operations, according to a material information notice issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on August 17, 2026.

The company said the damage to the induced-draft (ID) fan has brought clinker production to a halt for the time being. In response, Gharibwal Cement has initiated the necessary repair and maintenance activities to restore operations.

The company has also procured a replacement ID fan and its required parts directly from the manufacturer. Shipment of the replacement equipment is expected next month, indicating that the company is working to address the operational disruption as quickly as possible.

Gharibwal Cement further disclosed that the relevant letter of credit has already been opened for the replacement equipment. Meanwhile, other operational activities remain underway, with the company aiming to return to normal operations as soon as possible.

The temporary production stoppage could affect clinker output during the repair period, although the company has not disclosed the expected financial impact or the precise duration of the disruption.

The disclosure was made in accordance with Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015 and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Rule Book. The company requested the Pakistan Stock Exchange to disseminate the information among TRE Certificate Holders.

For investors, the key development to watch will be the arrival and installation of the replacement ID fan and the subsequent resumption of clinker production. Any prolonged interruption could have a bearing on production volumes, while a timely restoration would help limit the operational impact.
