Big Bird Foods Reports Stronger Earnings in Nine Months of FY2026

Big Bird Foods Limited has reported a solid improvement in its financial performance for the nine-month period ended March 31, 2026, with both sales and profitability showing year-on-year growth.

According to the company’s unaudited financial results, net sales increased to Rs11.58 billion during 9MFY26, compared with Rs8.24 billion in the corresponding period last year. This represents growth of around 41%, highlighting stronger revenue generation during the period.

The increase in revenue was accompanied by higher gross profit, which rose to Rs2.42 billion, compared with Rs1.74 billion a year earlier. However, distribution, selling and administrative expenses also increased during the period, reflecting higher operating costs.

Despite the rise in expenses, profit from operations reached Rs1.87 billion, up from Rs1.31 billion in 9MFY25. Finance costs declined to approximately Rs244.5 million from Rs278.5 million, providing some support to the bottom line.

After accounting for taxation, Big Bird Foods posted a profit after tax of Rs1.00 billion for the nine months ended March 31, 2026, compared with Rs901.1 million in the same period last year. This translates into an increase of roughly 11%. Earnings per share also improved to Rs3.34, compared with Rs3.01 previously.

Stronger March Quarter

The company also maintained positive momentum during the third quarter. Sales for the quarter stood at Rs3.85 billion, compared with Rs3.44 billion in the same quarter of the previous year.

Quarterly profit after tax increased to Rs355.6 million, from Rs327.8 million, while earnings per share rose to Rs1.18 from Rs1.10.

Financial Position Strengthens

Big Bird Foods’ balance sheet also expanded during the period. Total assets stood at Rs13.87 billion as of March 31, 2026, compared with Rs12.50 billion at June 30, 2025.

Total equity increased to approximately Rs9.01 billion, compared with Rs7.86 billion at the end of FY2025. The company’s accumulated profit also climbed to around Rs3.18 billion from Rs2.12 billion.

The cash-flow statement showed that the company generated Rs317.1 million in net cash from operating activities during the nine-month period, compared with a net operating cash outflow of Rs319.3 million in the corresponding period last year.

At the end of March 2026, cash and cash equivalents stood at Rs293.7 million, compared with Rs326.7 million at June 30, 2025.

No Dividend Announced

Along with its financial results, the company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that the board had approved the financial statements for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. No cash dividend, bonus shares or right shares were announced for the period.

Overall, Big Bird Foods’ latest results point to a stronger operating performance, driven primarily by substantial sales growth and improved profitability. The company’s ability to convert higher revenue into stronger earnings, while also generating positive operating cash flow, provides a constructive picture of its financial performance through the first nine months of FY2026.
