National Investment Trust Limited (NIT) has reported net income of Rs39.42 million for the nine months ended March 31, 2026, compared with Rs33.47 million in the same period last year, according to its unaudited condensed interim financial statements.

The financial statements of the NIT Pakistan Gateway Exchange Traded Fund (NIT-PGETF) were submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange by National Investment Trust Limited on April 14, 2026. The filing covered the nine-month period ended March 31, 2026.

Assets rise to Rs192.98 million

The fund’s total assets stood at Rs192.98 million as of March 31, 2026, compared with Rs110.16 million at June 30, 2025. Investments accounted for Rs182.79 million, while bank balances amounted to Rs8.98 million and dividend and profit receivables stood at Rs1.22 million.

After accounting for liabilities of Rs1.22 million, the fund’s net assets reached Rs191.76 million, up substantially from Rs109.15 million at the end of June 2025. The number of units in issue also increased to 5.82 million from 4.17 million.

The net asset value (NAV) per unit increased to Rs32.9481 at March 31, 2026, compared with Rs26.1742 at June 30, 2025.

Investment income supports results

During the nine months, the fund generated total income of Rs25.56 million, compared with Rs34.91 million in the corresponding period of 2025. Dividend income amounted to Rs8.51 million, while gains on sale of investments were Rs2.47 million. The fund also recorded Rs14.23 million in net unrealised appreciation from remeasurement of investments classified at fair value through profit or loss.

Operating expenses amounted to Rs1.49 million, compared with Rs1.02 million a year earlier. These included management remuneration, trustee fees, regulatory charges, central depository charges, securities transaction costs and other expenses.

After taking into account the element of income and capital gains included in the prices of units issued and redeemed, net income for the period came to Rs39.42 million, up from Rs33.47 million in the same nine-month period of 2025.

Stronger unit-holder fund

The statement of movement in unit holders’ fund shows that net assets increased from Rs109.15 million at the beginning of the period to Rs191.76 million by March 31, 2026. During the period, the fund issued 1.98 million units, generating Rs69.52 million in proceeds, while 330,000 units were redeemed for Rs10.98 million.

The fund’s NAV per unit stood at Rs32.9481 at the end of the period, compared with Rs26.4900 at the end of the corresponding period in 2025.

Cash position improves

The cash-flow statement shows that NIT-PGETF generated Rs58.54 million in net cash from financing activities, primarily reflecting proceeds from unit sales of Rs69.52 million, partly offset by Rs10.98 million in unit redemptions. The fund ended the period with cash and cash equivalents of Rs8.98 million, compared with Rs4.34 million a year earlier.

Overall, the March 2026 financial statements show an expansion in the fund’s asset base and unit-holder fund, accompanied by higher net income and an increase in NAV per unit during the reporting period.
