The NIT Pakistan Gateway Exchange Traded Fund (NIT-PGETF) delivered a strong financial performance for the year ended June 30, 2026, with its net income rising sharply as investment gains and dividend income strengthened during the year.

According to the financial statements submitted by National Investment Trust Limited, the fund recorded net income of Rs76.78 million for FY2026, compared with Rs45.13 million a year earlier. This represents an increase of around 70% year-on-year.

Investment gains drive performance

The fund’s income was supported by several sources. Dividend income increased to Rs11.10 million from Rs7.90 million in FY2025, while realised gains on the sale of investments stood at Rs4.28 million.

The biggest contribution came from the net unrealised appreciation on investments, which reached Rs44.92 million, compared with Rs30.61 million in the previous year. Overall income increased to Rs61.22 million from Rs43.62 million.

After expenses, including management company remuneration, trustee charges, regulatory fees and other operating costs, the fund reported net operating income of Rs59.21 million, compared with Rs42.30 million in FY2025.

Assets nearly double

The fund also recorded significant growth in its asset base. Total assets stood at Rs210.56 million at June 30, 2026, compared with Rs110.16 million a year earlier.

Investments accounted for the overwhelming majority of the asset base at Rs208.43 million, compared with Rs108.83 million in FY2025. Net assets consequently increased to Rs209.42 million from Rs109.15 million.

The increase in assets was accompanied by a rise in the number of units in issue, which reached 6.05 million units, compared with 4.17 million units at the end of the previous year.

NAV rises strongly

The fund’s net asset value (NAV) per unit also improved considerably. NAV increased from Rs26.1742 per unit at June 30, 2025 to Rs34.6147 per unit at June 30, 2026, reflecting a gain of approximately 32%.

The statement of movement in unit holders’ fund shows that the fund issued 2.34 million units during the year, while 160,000 units were redeemed. The fund also recorded an interim distribution of Rs4.25 per unit, with the distribution date stated as June 24, 2026.

Stronger year for NIT-PGETF

The FY2026 results highlight a significant improvement in the financial position of NIT Pakistan Gateway Exchange Traded Fund. Higher dividend income, realised investment gains and a substantial increase in the unrealised appreciation of investments helped lift annual income and strengthen the fund’s overall asset position.

Total comprehensive income for the year stood at Rs76.78 million, compared with Rs45.13 million in FY2025, while no other comprehensive income was reported.

Overall, the results show that NIT-PGETF entered FY2027 with a considerably larger asset base, higher NAV per unit and stronger accumulated income than it had a year earlier.
