Oilboy Energy Returns to Profit with Rs26 Million Earnings in 9MFY2026

Oilboy Energy Limited has announced a return to profitability for the nine months ended March 31, 2026, posting a net profit of Rs25.99 million compared to a net loss of Rs16.80 million recorded during the corresponding period last year. The financial results were approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on April 29, 2026.

According to the company’s unaudited financial statements, revenue declined by 45.9% to Rs151.74 million, down from Rs280.52 million in the same period of the previous year. Despite the sharp drop in sales, the company significantly reduced its cost of revenue, resulting in a gross profit of Rs47.62 million, compared to Rs5.65 million a year earlier.

Oilboy Energy also reported a strong improvement in its operating performance. The company posted an operating profit of Rs28.27 million, reversing an operating loss of Rs16.26 million in the corresponding period last year. Lower finance costs and improved cost management further supported the turnaround, allowing the company to report a profit before taxation of Rs28.20 million. After accounting for taxation of Rs2.21 million, profit after tax stood at Rs25.99 million. Earnings per share (EPS) improved to Rs1.04, compared with a loss per share of Rs0.75 in the same period last year.

For the third quarter ended March 31, 2026, the company earned a net profit of Rs11.05 million, compared to a loss of Rs124.23 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025. Quarterly EPS came in at Rs0.44, a notable recovery from the loss per share of Rs4.97 reported a year earlier.

The Board of Directors did not recommend any cash dividend, bonus shares, right shares, or any other corporate action along with the financial results.

The latest results indicate that Oilboy Energy has successfully returned to profitability through improved operational efficiency and tighter cost controls, despite operating in a challenging revenue environment. Investors will now be watching whether the company can sustain this momentum in the remaining quarter of the financial year.
