AKD Securities Limited reported a profit after tax of Rs2.81 billion for the nine months ended March 31, 2026, showing a modest increase from Rs2.78 billion recorded in the corresponding period last year.

According to the company’s financial results, operating revenue rose significantly to Rs2.37 billion, compared with Rs1.45 billion in the same period of the previous year. The company’s results were announced by its board on April 23, 2026.

Investment gains support earnings

AKD Securities recorded a net gain on investments of approximately Rs1.96 billion during the nine-month period, compared with Rs2.32 billion a year earlier.

The results show that the company booked a gain of around Rs953.4 million on the sale of short-term investments at fair value through profit or loss, while an unrealised gain of approximately Rs1.01 billion was recorded from the remeasurement of short-term investments.

Dividend income stood at Rs54.7 million, while mark-up and profit on bank deposits and other income amounted to approximately Rs425.2 million.

Profit remains broadly stable

Despite a decline in investment-related gains, AKD Securities maintained its profitability, with profit after tax reaching Rs2.81 billion, compared with Rs2.78 billion in the nine months ended March 31, 2025.

Earnings per share improved slightly to Rs5.05, compared with Rs4.98 in the corresponding period last year.

However, the company reported a quarterly loss of approximately Rs723.6 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, against a profit of around Rs410.5 million in the same quarter of the previous year. The quarterly loss was primarily affected by a substantial unrealised loss on the remeasurement of short-term investments.

Stronger cash position

The company also reported an improvement in its cash position. Consolidated cash and bank balances stood at approximately Rs3.02 billion as of March 31, 2026, compared with around Rs2.14 billion at June 30, 2025.

Net cash generated from operating activities during the nine-month period amounted to approximately Rs2.82 billion, compared with Rs2.04 billion a year earlier.

Total assets increased to approximately Rs22.63 billion by March 31, 2026, from Rs20.04 billion at June 30, 2025. Shareholders’ equity also rose to around Rs13.89 billion from Rs12.00 billion over the same period.

No dividend announced

Alongside the financial results, the board recommended no cash dividend, bonus shares, right shares or other corporate entitlement for the period under review.

Overall, AKD Securities’ nine-month results show a relatively stable bottom line despite fluctuations in investment valuations. Higher operating revenue and stronger operating cash generation supported the company’s financial position, while market-related investment movements remained a key factor influencing quarterly earnings.
