Arpak International Investments Limited (PSX: ARPAK) has announced its financial results for the quarter and nine-month period ended March 31, 2026, reporting a reduced net loss for the nine months compared to the corresponding period last year, despite a substantial impairment charge on an associated company investment.

According to the financial statements approved by the company’s Board of Directors on April 28, 2026, Arpak recorded income of Rs. 8.46 million during the nine-month period, compared with negative income of Rs. 8.89 million in the same period of the previous year. Operating and general expenses stood at Rs. 11.90 million, resulting in an operating loss of Rs. 3.45 million, slightly higher than the operating loss of Rs. 2.94 million recorded a year earlier.

A major factor affecting the company’s earnings was its share of loss from an associated company, which amounted to Rs. 129.58 million, although this represented a significant improvement from the Rs. 279.91 million loss reported in the corresponding period last year. Additionally, the company recognized a reversal/provision adjustment related to impairment in an associated company investment amounting to Rs. 61.08 million, compared with Rs. 184.34 million in the same period last year.

As a result, loss before taxation narrowed to Rs. 71.96 million, compared with Rs. 98.51 million in the corresponding nine-month period of 2025. After accounting for taxation, the company posted a net loss of Rs. 71.65 million, improving from a net loss of Rs. 98.48 million a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, loss per share (LPS) improved to Rs. 17.91, compared with Rs. 24.62 in the corresponding period last year, reflecting the overall reduction in losses.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2026, however, the company reported a net loss of Rs. 177.08 million, significantly higher than the Rs. 47.39 million loss recorded in the same quarter last year. Quarterly loss per share increased to Rs. 44.27, compared with Rs. 11.85 in the corresponding quarter of 2025, primarily due to a sizeable impairment charge recognized during the quarter.

The company stated that its detailed quarterly report for the nine-month period ended March 31, 2026, will be submitted electronically through the Pakistan Unified Corporate Action Reporting System (PUCARS) in accordance with Pakistan Stock Exchange requirements.
