D.S. Industries Limited Posts Lower Annual Profit as Revenue Falls Significantly
D.S. Industries Limited has reported a net profit of Rs1.44 million for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs5.25 million in the previous financial year, according to the company’s financial results submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The company’s financial statements show a substantial decline in revenue during the year, while income from associated companies played a key role in supporting its profitability.
Revenue Declines Sharply
D.S. Industries Limited recorded revenue of Rs57,622 for FY2026, compared with Rs3.78 million in FY2025. The company also reported a gross loss of Rs8,355, against a gross loss of Rs110,079 in the preceding year.
Administrative, selling and other expenses totalled Rs12.03 million during the year, compared with Rs13.34 million a year earlier. Despite the reduction in expenses, the company recorded an operating loss of Rs3.11 million, compared with an operating loss of Rs2.08 million in FY2025.
Other income stood at Rs8.93 million, down from Rs11.37 million in the previous year.
Share of Associates Supports Profitability
The company’s share of profit from associates increased to Rs13.78 million in FY2026 from Rs8.51 million in FY2025. This increase helped D.S. Industries Limited report a profit before taxation and levies of Rs10.50 million, compared with Rs5.59 million in the previous year.
However, the company’s net profit declined due to a significant increase in taxation. Net taxation amounted to approximately Rs9.06 million during FY2026, compared with Rs347,077 in FY2025.
Consequently, profit after taxation fell to Rs1.44 million from Rs5.25 million, while earnings per share decreased to Rs0.02 from Rs0.06.
Financial Position and Cash Flow
As of June 30, 2026, the company’s total assets stood at Rs275.82 million, compared with Rs284.68 million a year earlier. Total equity increased to Rs190.48 million from Rs189.04 million, while current liabilities declined to Rs85.34 million from Rs95.65 million.
The company’s cash position weakened considerably during the year. Cash and cash equivalents fell to Rs598,543 at the end of FY2026 from Rs64.98 million at the end of FY2025.
Net cash used in operating activities amounted to Rs7.06 million. The company also reported net cash used in investing activities of Rs50.50 million, largely reflecting investments in short-term financial instruments, partly offset by proceeds from the disposal of property, plant and equipment. Financing activities used a further Rs6.82 million.
These figures highlight the importance of monitoring the company’s cash management and investment activities alongside its reported earnings.
No Dividend or Bonus Shares Announced
The board of directors did not recommend a cash dividend, bonus shares or a rights issue for the year ended June 30, 2026.
The company’s annual general meeting is scheduled for October 28, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at Avari Xpress, Gulberg II, Lahore.
Outlook
D.S. Industries Limited’s FY2026 results reflect lower annual profitability and a sharp contraction in reported revenue. Although higher earnings from associates supported the company’s profit before tax, increased taxation contributed to a decline in net earnings.
Investors will likely monitor the company’s future revenue performance, cash position, tax expenses and returns from associated companies to assess its financial outlook.
The company’s ability to strengthen its operating performance and maintain adequate liquidity will remain important factors in evaluating its financial position in the coming year.
