Faysal Bank Limited (FBL) has reported a profit after taxation of Rs15.17 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, while announcing an interim cash dividend of Rs1.50 per share for the third quarter.
According to the financial results approved by the bank’s Board of Directors on October 22, 2026, Faysal Bank continued to deliver positive earnings during the period, although its nine-month profit recorded only modest growth compared with the corresponding period last year.
Nine-Month Profit Shows Slight Growth
Faysal Bank’s unconsolidated financial statements show that profit after taxation increased to Rs15.17 billion in the nine months ended September 30, 2026, from Rs15.00 billion in the same period of 2025.
This represents an increase of approximately 1.1% year-on-year. Earnings per share also improved to Rs10.00 from Rs9.89, reflecting a modest increase in profitability on a per-share basis.
The bank’s profit before taxation, however, declined to Rs31.28 billion from Rs32.80 billion a year earlier. The reduction indicates that higher earnings from other income sources and changes in expenses played an important role in supporting the final profit figure.
Third-Quarter Earnings Remain Positive
During the third quarter of 2026, Faysal Bank posted an unconsolidated profit after taxation of Rs5.16 billion, compared with Rs5.00 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
Quarterly earnings per share increased to Rs3.40 from Rs3.29, indicating an improvement in per-share earnings.
Profit before taxation for the quarter stood at Rs10.76 billion, slightly below the Rs10.95 billion recorded in the same quarter last year. Despite this decline, the bank managed to report higher after-tax earnings.
Other Income Supports Financial Performance
Faysal Bank recorded total other income of approximately Rs22.28 billion during the first nine months of 2026, compared with Rs18.15 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.
Fee and commission income increased to Rs11.09 billion from Rs9.48 billion, reflecting stronger income from banking services. Foreign exchange income also rose to Rs6.90 billion from Rs5.81 billion.
These improvements helped offset some of the pressure on the bank’s overall earnings. However, operating expenses increased to Rs43.97 billion from Rs40.86 billion, highlighting the continued importance of cost management.
The bank also reported a reversal of credit loss allowances and write-offs, net of approximately Rs1.34 billion, compared with a reversal of Rs4.20 billion in the corresponding period last year.
Consolidated Results Reflect Similar Trends
On a consolidated basis, Faysal Bank reported profit after taxation of Rs15.68 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs15.55 billion in the same period of 2025.
Consolidated earnings per share increased to Rs10.33 from Rs10.25. For the third quarter, consolidated profit after taxation reached Rs5.33 billion, compared with Rs5.13 billion a year earlier.
Consolidated profit before taxation declined to Rs32.11 billion from Rs33.70 billion during the nine-month period, while total other income increased to Rs24.55 billion from Rs20.39 billion.
The consolidated results therefore show a pattern similar to the unconsolidated figures: modest growth in final earnings alongside pressure on pre-tax profitability.
Bank Declares Rs1.50 Per Share Cash Dividend
The Board of Directors approved an interim cash dividend of Rs1.50 per share, equivalent to 15% of the Rs10 face value, for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026.
The dividend is in addition to the 15% interim cash dividend announced for the first quarter and the 15% interim cash dividend for the second quarter, which had already been paid to shareholders.
The third-quarter announcement brings the total interim cash dividend declared for the first nine months of 2026 to Rs4.50 per share, subject to the applicable shareholder entitlement requirements.
The bank also confirmed that no bonus shares or right shares were announced alongside the results.
Financial Position Strengthens
Faysal Bank’s unconsolidated total assets increased to approximately Rs1.88 trillion as of September 30, 2026, compared with Rs1.77 trillion at December 31, 2025.
Deposits and other accounts rose to approximately Rs1.56 trillion from Rs1.43 trillion at the end of 2025. The increase in deposits highlights the expansion of the bank’s funding base during the period.
On a consolidated basis, total assets reached approximately Rs1.88 trillion, while deposits and other accounts stood at around Rs1.56 trillion.
These figures indicate continued growth in the bank’s balance sheet, although asset expansion alone does not determine future profitability or shareholder returns.
Outlook
Faysal Bank’s nine-month results reflect a mixed but generally stable financial performance. The bank maintained growth in after-tax profit and earnings per share, benefited from higher fee and foreign exchange income, and continued to expand its balance sheet.
At the same time, lower pre-tax profit and rising operating expenses remain important areas to monitor. The bank’s ability to sustain income growth, manage costs and maintain asset quality will be significant factors in determining its future financial performance.
The latest dividend announcement also provides an additional return for eligible shareholders, bringing the total interim cash dividend declared for the first nine months of 2026 to Rs4.50 per share.
