KARACHI: Habib Sugar Mills Limited has reported a strong financial performance for the nine months ended June 30, 2026, posting a significant increase in profitability despite lower sales during the period. The company’s Board of Directors approved the unaudited condensed interim financial results at its meeting held on July 22, 2026.

According to the financial statement, Habib Sugar Mills recorded a net profit of Rs1.342 billion for the nine-month period, representing a 34.1% increase from Rs1.001 billion reported in the corresponding period of last year.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) improved to Rs9.94, compared with Rs7.41 in the same period last year, reflecting stronger returns for shareholders.

Despite the improvement in earnings, net sales and services declined by 19.8% to Rs12.53 billion, down from Rs15.62 billion a year earlier. However, the company maintained healthy margins as gross profit increased to Rs2.26 billion from Rs2.17 billion, indicating effective cost management.

Operating profit also strengthened, rising to Rs2.15 billion from Rs1.92 billion in the previous year’s corresponding period. Additionally, the company recorded net finance income of Rs74.55 million, compared with a finance cost of Rs16.20 million last year, further supporting profitability.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Habib Sugar Mills posted a net profit of Rs418.91 million, up from Rs333.68 million in the same quarter of 2025. Quarterly EPS improved to Rs3.10, compared with Rs2.47 a year earlier.

The Board did not announce any cash dividend, bonus shares, right shares, or any other corporate action along with the financial results.

On the balance sheet, the company’s total assets increased to Rs24.79 billion as of June 30, 2026, compared with Rs23.50 billion at the end of September 2025. Total equity stood at Rs17.21 billion, reflecting the company’s solid financial position.

The latest results underscore Habib Sugar Mills’ ability to enhance profitability through improved operational efficiency and financial management, despite softer revenues during the reporting period. The performance highlights the company’s resilience amid a challenging operating environment while continuing to deliver stronger earnings for shareholders.
