Karachi, July 23, 2026: Nestlé Pakistan Limited has informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that its majority shareholder, Nestlé S.A., has entered into an exclusive agreement with Platinum Equity to establish a new 50/50 joint venture named Peranel, bringing together Nestlé’s global waters and premium beverages business.
The proposed joint venture is designed to create a dedicated company focused on accelerating growth in the global water and premium beverages segment. The transaction remains subject to employee consultation processes and regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed during the first half of 2027.
Peranel will oversee a portfolio of more than 30 brands sold across 120 countries. The business includes globally recognized natural mineral water brands such as S.Pellegrino, Perrier, and Acqua Panna, along with premium hydration beverages, the Nestlé Pure Life brand, and several leading local water brands. The new company is expected to be headquartered in Paris and led by Muriel Lienau, the current CEO of Nestlé’s waters and premium beverages business.
Nestlé Pakistan also confirmed that its local water operations are part of the global waters and premium beverages business covered by the proposed transaction. However, the implementation of the deal in Pakistan will depend on the execution of definitive agreements and the completion of all required corporate and regulatory approvals. At this stage, the company intends only to incorporate a local entity as part of the process.
The company emphasized that additional announcements will be made if any material developments arise that require disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The disclosure was issued in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 of the PSX Rule Book to keep shareholders and the market informed of this significant international corporate development.
