Sapphire Fibres Discloses Participation in IESCO Privatisation Qualification Process

Karachi, September 18, 2026: Sapphire Fibres Limited has disclosed that it has obtained the Request for Statement of Qualification (RSOQ) issued by the Privatisation Commission for the proposed divestment of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) through privatisation.

According to the material information disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company’s Board of Directors has approved Sapphire Fibres’ participation in the transaction. However, the company clarified that its participation is subject to pre-qualification by the Privatisation Commission as well as all required corporate and regulatory approvals.

The disclosure was made in accordance with Section 96 and Section 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, along with Clause 5.6.1 of the Rule Book of the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

Sapphire Fibres further stated that, once the relevant approval is granted, it may form a consortium in connection with the transaction. The company also said it will keep the Pakistan Stock Exchange informed about material developments regarding its participation.

The disclosure form attached to the announcement identifies Sapphire Fibres Limited as the participating company and records September 18, 2026 as the date of the earliest reported event.

The announcement does not indicate that Sapphire Fibres has been selected as the successful bidder or that the privatisation transaction has been completed. At this stage, the company’s participation remains subject to the qualification process and the necessary approvals.

The development places Sapphire Fibres among companies considering participation in the privatisation process for IESCO, while further details regarding any consortium arrangement or subsequent stages will depend on the outcome of the pre-qualification process and regulatory requirements.
