Sindh Modaraba has reported a significant improvement in its financial performance for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, recording a profit of Rs. 52.47 million compared with Rs. 36.39 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The results highlight an increase in profitability, supported by income from its core financing activities and investment income.
According to the company’s condensed interim financial statements, total income before management remuneration and taxation-related provisions reached approximately Rs. 83.51 million during the quarter, up from Rs. 57.91 million in the same period last year.
Strong Growth in Core Financing Income

Investment income also increased to Rs. 17.22 million from Rs. 9.68 million a year earlier. These income streams helped offset higher administrative and operating expenses, which rose to Rs. 31.78 million from Rs. 25.58 million.
Profit before taxation and levy reached Rs. 73.91 million, compared with Rs. 51.25 million in the previous year’s corresponding quarter. After taxation, quarterly profit amounted to Rs. 52.47 million.
Earnings Per Certificate Improve

The increase in basic earnings reflects the improvement in quarterly profitability, although investors may also consider other financial indicators when evaluating the company’s performance.
Financial Position and Cash Reserves
The company’s total assets stood at approximately Rs. 3.25 billion as of September 30, 2026, broadly in line with the Rs. 3.26 billion reported at June 30, 2026.
Cash and cash equivalents increased considerably to Rs. 1.09 billion at the end of September, compared with approximately Rs. 354 million at the end of June. The cash flow statement also reported net cash generated from operating activities of Rs. 741.23 million during the quarter, compared with net cash used in operating activities of Rs. 91.60 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The increase in cash balances represents a notable change in the company’s short-term liquidity position. However, cash movements should be assessed alongside financing activity, receivables and other working-capital changes to understand their sustainability.
Equity and Profit Distribution
Total certificate holders’ equity amounted to approximately Rs. 3.08 billion at September 30, 2026. The financial statements also show subordinated funds of Rs. 2 billion and a profit distribution of Rs. 63 million recorded during the quarter.
These figures provide investors with additional insight into the company’s capital position and distributions to certificate holders.
Outlook
Sindh Modaraba’s first-quarter results show year-on-year growth in quarterly profit, improved income from Morabaha financing and investment activities, and a substantial increase in cash and cash equivalents.
Going forward, the company’s performance will depend on its ability to maintain financing income, manage operating expenses, sustain asset quality and deploy available funds effectively. Investors will likely monitor these factors, along with subsequent quarterly results, to assess whether the positive earnings trend continues.
