KARACHI: Attock Cement Pakistan Limited has announced significant changes to its board of directors and senior management following a change in the company’s controlling shareholding.
In a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company said its Board of Directors, during an emergent meeting held on April 28, 2026, approved the resignation of several directors with immediate effect. Those stepping down include Laith G. Pharaon, Wael G. Pharaon, Shuaib Anwar Malik, Abdus Sattar, Shamim Ahmad Khan, Agha Sher Shah, and Mohammad Haroon. The board expressed its appreciation for their services and contributions during their tenure.
To fill the vacancies, the company appointed a new group of directors with immediate effect until the next election of directors. The newly inducted board members are Lt. Gen. Anwar Ali Hyder HI (M), (Retd.), Lt. Gen. Muhammad Saeed HI (M), (Retd.), Majid Munir, Muhammad Masood, Shabnam Faqir Mohammad, Aamir Malik, and Mudassir Khan.
The board also approved the appointment of Lt. Gen. Anwar Ali Hyder HI (M), (Retd.) as the new Chairman of Attock Cement, replacing Shuaib Anwar Malik with immediate effect from April 28, 2026.
In addition, the company announced that Omer Ashraf will assume the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer effective May 2, 2026, following the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Babar Bashir Nawaz.
According to the company, these changes are a direct consequence of the acquisition of majority shareholding and the transfer of control of Attock Cement to Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL) and Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO). The restructuring marks the beginning of a new management phase as the company aligns its leadership with its new ownership structure.
