Jubilee Life Insurance Company Limited has announced its financial results for the half year ended June 30, 2026, along with an interim cash dividend and a substantial bonus share recommendation.

According to the company’s announcement dated August 18, 2026, the Board of Directors recommended an interim cash dividend of Rs3 per share, equivalent to 30%, for the six-month period ended June 30, 2026. The board also recommended the issuance of bonus shares at the rate of one share for every two shares held, or 50%.

The entitlements will be available to shareholders whose names appear in the company’s Register of Members on August 26, 2026. The company said its share transfer books will remain closed from August 27 to August 31, 2026, both days inclusive, for determining entitlement to the cash dividend and bonus shares.

Profit declines during the first half

Jubilee Life Insurance reported profit after tax of Rs959.94 million for the half year ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs1.273 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. This represents a decline of around 24.6%.

The company’s earnings per share also fell to Rs9.57, compared with Rs12.69 a year earlier. Despite the decline in profitability, the company maintained a strong shareholder distribution through the interim dividend and proposed bonus issue.

Revenue and investment performance

The company recorded premium/contribution revenue of Rs29.78 billion during the first half, compared with Rs27.88 billion in the same period last year. After contributions ceded to reinsurers, net premium/contribution revenue stood at approximately Rs28.23 billion, up from Rs26.59 billion.

However, investment-related performance was mixed. Investment income declined to Rs6.27 billion from Rs12.80 billion a year earlier, while the company reported a net fair-value loss of Rs905.26 million on financial assets at fair value through profit or loss.

The financial statements also show that insurance benefits increased to approximately Rs32.47 billion during the first half from Rs30.42 billion in the corresponding period.

Asset base remains substantial

As of June 30, 2026, Jubilee Life Insurance reported total assets of Rs263.94 billion, compared with Rs265.77 billion at the end of December 2025.

The company’s investment portfolio remained a major component of its balance sheet, including around Rs34.74 billion in equity securities, Rs172.52 billion in government securities, Rs4.51 billion in debt securities and Rs31.30 billion in open-ended mutual funds.

Total equity stood at approximately Rs18.54 billion at the end of June 2026, while total liabilities amounted to about Rs245.41 billion.

Comprehensive income affected by investment movements

Jubilee Life reported total comprehensive income of Rs707.64 million for the six-month period, compared with Rs1.006 billion in the first half of 2025.

The statement of comprehensive income shows that changes in unrealised gains on available-for-sale financial assets and related reclassification adjustments affected overall comprehensive income during the period.

Cash flow position

The company generated Rs12.87 billion in net cash from investing activities during the first half, helped by investment returns and proceeds from the disposal of investments. This was partly offset by a Rs11.14 billion net cash outflow from operating activities.

Cash and cash equivalents increased from Rs4.82 billion at the beginning of the period to approximately Rs5.42 billion at June 30, 2026.

Overall, Jubilee Life’s first-half results reflect a combination of higher premium revenue and a sizeable asset base, alongside lower profitability largely amid weaker investment income and changes in investment valuations. The proposed 30% interim cash dividend and 50% bonus shares nevertheless underline the company’s continued focus on shareholder returns.

The results were submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange following the Board meeting held on August 18, 2026.
