Tri-Pack Films Returns to Profitability with Rs339 Million Earnings in Nine Months of FY2026
KARACHI: Tri-Pack Films Limited has reported a profit after tax of Rs339.44 million for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2026, compared with a loss of Rs372.89 million recorded in the corresponding period last year, according to the company’s financial results submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The company’s financial performance showed a notable improvement, with earnings per share (EPS) reaching Rs8.75 during the nine-month period, against a loss per share of Rs9.61 in the same period of 2025.
Revenue and Profitability Improve
Tri-Pack Films generated revenue of Rs24.89 billion during the nine months ended September 2026, compared with Rs23.28 billion in the corresponding period last year.
Gross profit increased to Rs4.19 billion from Rs3.21 billion, reflecting an improvement in the company’s gross profitability. Operating profit also rose to Rs2.31 billion from Rs1.64 billion during the same period.
The company recorded net finance costs of approximately Rs1.91 billion, compared with Rs2.05 billion a year earlier. Despite the continuing financing burden, the improvement in operating performance helped the company return to profitability.
Third-Quarter Results Show a Challenging Picture
For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, Tri-Pack Films recorded revenue of Rs7.61 billion, compared with Rs8.77 billion in the same quarter of 2025.
Gross profit declined to Rs1.10 billion from Rs1.28 billion, while operating profit decreased to Rs533.17 million from Rs684.81 million.
The company posted a net loss of Rs22.19 million for the third quarter, compared with a profit of Rs95.32 million in the corresponding quarter last year. Quarterly earnings per share stood at a negative Rs0.57, against positive earnings of Rs2.46 a year earlier.
These quarterly figures indicate that, although the company achieved a substantial recovery over the nine-month period, its financial performance remained under pressure during the latest quarter.
Financial Position and Cash Flow
According to the company’s statement of financial position, total assets stood at Rs34.93 billion as of September 30, 2026, compared with Rs33.45 billion at the end of the corresponding reporting date in 2025.
Total equity increased to Rs5.11 billion, while total liabilities reached Rs29.83 billion. Long-term borrowings stood at approximately Rs9.94 billion, while short-term borrowings amounted to Rs6.80 billion.
The company generated net cash from operating activities of Rs2.61 billion during the nine-month period, compared with Rs4.73 billion in the corresponding period last year. The figures indicate that operating cash generation declined despite the improvement in reported profitability.
No Dividend Announced
The board of directors, at its meeting held on October 20, 2026, approved the company’s unaudited condensed interim financial statements for the nine-month period and quarter ended September 30, 2026.
The board did not recommend any cash dividend, bonus shares, or right shares for the period. The company also reported no other entitlement or price-sensitive information in its announcement.
The detailed quarterly report is to be submitted separately through the Pakistan Unified Corporate Action and Reporting System (PUCARS) and made available on the company’s official website.
Outlook
Tri-Pack Films’ nine-month results highlight a significant recovery from the loss reported in the previous year, supported by higher revenue, improved gross profit, and stronger operating earnings. However, the third-quarter loss, lower quarterly revenue, and reduced operating cash generation remain important factors to watch.
The company’s future performance will depend on its ability to sustain profitability, manage financing costs, and maintain effective control over operating expenses and working capital.
