Karachi, September 10, 2026: Bank Makramah Limited has informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that a previously disclosed proposal for a potential equity investment in the bank is no longer being pursued.
In a disclosure to the PSX, the bank said the update relates to an earlier expression of interest received from M/s DM Holdings Limited regarding a potential equity investment in Bank Makramah. The bank confirmed that the proposal is no longer being pursued.
The development follows the bank’s earlier disclosure dated June 11, 2026, concerning the potential investment proposal. Bank Makramah also referred to its August 18 disclosure, under which its Board of Directors had approved an investment proposal received from the bank’s sponsor, His Excellency Nasser Abdullah Hussain Lootah, for the injection of PKR 10 billion into the bank, subject to the applicable corporate and regulatory approvals.
The latest disclosure makes clear that the proposal from DM Holdings Limited should no longer be considered an ongoing investment initiative. The bank said the update was being issued to keep investors and the market fully informed.
Bank Makramah also advised that the information may be disseminated to the Trading Right Entitlement (TRE) certificate holders of the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The announcement provides an important clarification for shareholders and market participants following the bank’s previous disclosures regarding potential capital investment. Any future developments concerning the bank’s capital position or investment proposals will remain subject to the relevant corporate and regulatory processes.
