KARACHI: Engro Fertilizers Limited has announced the temporary shutdown of its Base Plant due to unscheduled maintenance, with operations expected to remain suspended for approximately four days.

In a material information notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on July 3, 2026, the company stated that the forced outage was necessary to carry out essential maintenance work aimed at ensuring the plant’s continued safe and efficient operation.

According to the disclosure, maintenance activities have already commenced, and the company expects the Base Plant to resume normal operations once the work is completed. The estimated duration of the shutdown is around four days, subject to the successful completion of the maintenance process.

Engro Fertilizers did not disclose the financial impact of the temporary outage or whether fertilizer supplies to the market would be affected during the maintenance period. However, such preventive and corrective maintenance shutdowns are common in the fertilizer industry to enhance plant reliability, operational safety, and long-term efficiency.

The company shared the information in compliance with Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, as well as Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Rule Book, which requires listed companies to promptly disclose material developments that may be relevant to investors.
