HUBCO Posts Rs37.7 Billion Profit in 9M FY2026, Declares Rs5 Per Share Dividend

The Hub Power Company Limited (HUBCO) has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs37.74 billion for the nine months ended March 31, 2026, compared with Rs38.15 billion in the same period last year, according to its unaudited financial results.

The company’s earnings remained broadly stable despite a slight year-on-year decline in consolidated profitability. Earnings per share stood at Rs25.49 for the nine-month period, compared with Rs27.04 in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Quarterly performance

For the quarter ended March 31, 2026, HUBCO recorded consolidated net profit of approximately Rs12.13 billion, against Rs12.48 billion in the same quarter last year. The result represents a modest decline of around 3% year-on-year.

The company reported profit before taxation of approximately Rs18.80 billion during the quarter, while finance costs stood at around Rs2.07 billion. Profit from continuing operations after taxation was approximately Rs12.13 billion.

Nine-month earnings remain resilient

Despite the marginal decline in consolidated earnings, HUBCO’s nine-month financial performance shows continued resilience. Profit from continuing operations for the nine-month period stood at approximately Rs37.74 billion, compared with Rs38.15 billion a year earlier.

The company’s results also reflect contributions from associates and joint ventures. For the nine-month period, profit from associates and joint ventures amounted to approximately Rs32.31 billion, compared with Rs30.36 billion in the same period of 2025.

Dividend announced

Alongside the financial results, HUBCO announced an interim cash dividend of Rs5 per share, equivalent to 50%, for the third quarter ended March 31, 2026.

The company said the dividend would be paid to shareholders whose names appeared in the Register of Members on the relevant book-closure date. The share transfer books were scheduled to remain closed from May 6 to May 8, 2026, according to the company’s announcement.

Financial position

HUBCO’s consolidated balance sheet remained substantial, with total assets of approximately Rs416.6 billion as of March 31, 2026, compared with around Rs412.4 billion at June 30, 2025.

The company’s total equity stood at approximately Rs415.0 billion, while cash and bank balances were reported at around Rs39.4 billion.

Outlook

HUBCO’s latest results point to a relatively stable earnings profile, with consolidated profitability remaining close to the level recorded a year earlier. The continued contribution from associates and joint ventures remains an important component of the group’s overall performance.

For investors, the Rs5 per share interim dividend also reinforces HUBCO’s position as a company with a focus on returning cash to shareholders while maintaining a sizeable asset and equity base.
