MCB Bank Limited has reported a profit after taxation of Rs41.41 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, while announcing a third interim cash dividend of Rs9 per share for the third quarter.

According to the financial results submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on October 22, 2026, the bank recorded earnings per share (EPS) of Rs34.95 for the nine-month period, compared with Rs34.68 in the corresponding period of 2025.

The results reflect a modest improvement in earnings, while the bank has continued to distribute returns to shareholders through interim cash dividends.

Quarterly Profit Shows Improvement

MCB Bank’s standalone profit after taxation reached Rs14.94 billion in the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs13.79 billion in the same quarter last year.

Quarterly earnings per share increased to Rs12.61 from Rs11.64, indicating improved profitability during the period.

The bank’s profit before taxation stood at Rs31.19 billion for the third quarter, compared with Rs29.42 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2025. The increase in quarterly earnings was supported by higher net mark-up and interest income, alongside growth in non-mark-up income.

Nine-Month Earnings Remain Stable

For the nine months ended September 30, 2026, MCB Bank posted a standalone profit before taxation of Rs86.32 billion, compared with Rs87.48 billion in the same period last year.

Profit after taxation totalled Rs41.41 billion, slightly above the Rs41.10 billion reported for the corresponding period of 2025. Earnings per share also improved marginally to Rs34.95 from Rs34.68.

The bank’s results show that, despite a slight decline in profit before taxation, its after-tax earnings remained broadly stable during the first nine months of the year.

Consolidated Profit Also Increases in the Third Quarter

On a consolidated basis, including subsidiary companies, MCB Bank reported quarterly profit after taxation of Rs16.23 billion, compared with Rs15.24 billion in the same quarter of 2025.

Consolidated earnings per share rose to Rs13.65 from Rs12.75.

For the nine-month period, consolidated profit after taxation amounted to Rs44.33 billion, compared with Rs44.63 billion a year earlier. Profit attributable to the bank’s equity shareholders stood at Rs44.18 billion, against Rs44.34 billion in the corresponding period.

These figures indicate stronger quarterly performance, although consolidated earnings for the nine-month period remained slightly below last year’s level.

MCB Bank Announces Rs9 Per Share Cash Dividend

Alongside its financial results, the bank’s Board of Directors recommended a third interim cash dividend of Rs9 per share, equivalent to 90%, for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.

The dividend is in addition to the interim dividends of Rs18 per share already paid, taking the total interim cash dividend announced for the year to Rs27 per share.

According to the notice, shareholders whose names appear in the bank’s register of members on November 2, 2026, will be eligible for the entitlement, subject to the applicable requirements.

The share transfer books will remain closed from November 3 to November 5, 2026, inclusive. The bank also stated that its third-quarter financial statements would be transmitted separately through the Pakistan Unified Corporate Actions and Reporting System (PUCARS).

Financial Position Remains Substantial

As of September 30, 2026, MCB Bank’s standalone total assets stood at approximately Rs3.58 trillion, compared with Rs3.25 trillion at December 31, 2025. Deposits and other accounts reached approximately Rs2.71 trillion, up from Rs2.26 trillion at the end of 2025.

On a consolidated basis, total assets increased to approximately Rs4.00 trillion from Rs3.58 trillion at the end of December 2025, while deposits and other accounts rose to approximately Rs3.06 trillion from Rs2.53 trillion.

The increase in assets and deposits highlights the expansion of the bank’s balance sheet during the first nine months of 2026.

Outlook for Shareholders

MCB Bank’s latest results present a mixed but broadly stable earnings picture. Quarterly standalone and consolidated profits improved compared with the same period last year, while nine-month after-tax earnings remained close to the previous year’s levels.

The announced cash dividend is another significant development for shareholders seeking income from their investments. However, investors should also consider the bank’s future earnings, deposit growth, interest rate trends, asset quality and overall market conditions when assessing its performance.
