OGDCL Announces First Gas from Lundali-1 Well in Sindh

OGDCL’s Lundali-1 Well Starts Gas Production at 10 MMscfd, Boosting Indigenous Energy Supply

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the successful commissioning of the Lundali-1 well in the Sukhpur-II Block, Sindh Province, with first gas achieved on September 6, 2026.

OGDCL, which holds a 30% working interest in the Sukhpur-II Block, said the newly commissioned well is currently producing 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas at a wellhead pressure of 2,000 pounds per square inch (psi). The gas is being supplied to Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC).

The development is part of a joint venture involving several energy companies. Prime Global Energies Limited operates the block with a 25% working interest, while Mari Energies Limited holds 30% and Turkish Petroleum Overseas Company Limited has a 15% interest.

The Petroleum Concession Agreement and Exploration Licence for the Sukhpur-II Block (2568-23) became effective on December 2, 2025. According to OGDCL, Lundali-1 was drilled under the previous joint venture arrangement and was subsequently brought on stream by the current joint venture.

The start of production represents another addition to Pakistan’s domestic gas supply. By bringing the Lundali-1 well into production, the project is contributing additional indigenous gas to the national energy supply, potentially supporting the country’s efforts to meet growing energy requirements through local resources.

For OGDCL and its joint venture partners, the development also marks the transition of Lundali-1 from an exploration and drilling project into an operational producing asset. The reported initial output of 10 MMscfd provides a clear indication of the well’s contribution to the country’s gas network.

The announcement was submitted by OGDCL in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015 and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations for dissemination among market participants.
