Trust Securities & Brokerage Limited Reports Lower Profit in First Quarter of FY2026
Trust Securities & Brokerage Limited has reported a significant decline in its profitability for the first quarter ended September 30, 2026, with its net profit falling by approximately 52% compared to the corresponding period last year.
According to the company’s unaudited financial results submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on October 28, 2026, the brokerage firm posted a profit after taxation of Rs9.52 million for the quarter, compared to Rs19.82 million in the same period of the previous year.
The company’s operating revenue also declined to Rs97.44 million, down from Rs105.87 million recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
Despite lower revenue, the company recorded a gain of Rs14.77 million on the sale of short-term investments, compared to just Rs153,514 in the same period last year. Other income also increased to Rs26.22 million from Rs15.99 million.
However, higher operating and administrative expenses, along with increased other charges, weighed on the company’s overall profitability. Operating and administrative expenses increased to Rs104.90 million from Rs91.66 million, while other charges rose substantially to Rs19.28 million compared to Rs1.28 million in the corresponding period last year.
As a result, profit before taxation declined to Rs12.84 million from Rs26.51 million. After accounting for taxation of Rs3.32 million, the company reported earnings per share (EPS) of Rs0.013, compared to Rs0.66 in the first quarter of the previous financial year.
Financial Position
The company’s total assets stood at Rs1.51 billion as of September 30, 2026, compared to Rs1.60 billion at June 30, 2026. Shareholders’ equity increased to Rs971.69 million from Rs962.17 million during the same period, supported by accumulated profits of Rs221.69 million.
On the cash flow front, the company reported a net cash outflow of Rs25.23 million from operating activities during the quarter, compared to a net cash inflow of Rs34.27 million in the corresponding period last year. Cash and cash equivalents stood at Rs68.32 million at the end of September 2026.
No Dividend Announced
The company’s Board of Directors approved the first-quarter financial results in a meeting held on October 28, 2026. The board did not announce any cash dividend, bonus shares, or right shares for shareholders.
The results indicate a challenging start to the financial year for Trust Securities & Brokerage Limited, as declining operating revenue and higher expenses affected its earnings despite improved gains from short-term investments and higher other income.
Investors will be watching the company’s upcoming quarterly performance to assess whether it can improve its revenue generation, manage expenses and restore profitability in the remaining quarters of FY2026.
